Head off a blood shortage by hitting the beach It happens every summer. Regular donors leave town just when demand for blood rises. Blood supplies are critically low the first week of July, particularly type O. To alleviate the situation, DoTucson is joining the American Red Cross Blood Services for a "Beach Bash" donation drive Saturday, June 30 through Sunday, July 8.
